How you save money with Solar Energy

The cost of electricity is continually rising. An installed solar electric system is a great way to reduce or even
eliminate your electric bill.
Effective July 1, 2006 the comparision rate on your BGE electric bill is $.1103 per kwh.  A 6000 watt solar
system will do the job of reducing the price of electric in the average home.
Say your average kw usage is 1200 kwh per month, and cost $132.36 (1200 x .1103) Your 6000 watt solar
system will produce on the average of 1000 kwh per month, which comes to $110.30 that will be deducted from
your bill.  Your electric bill will then be $22.06, which means you saved $110.30.  There will be months that you
may only use about 800 kwh, and with your solar system producing 1000 kwh, that means you sent 200 kwh
back into the electric grid. This means your electric bill will be $0.00, and you will have $22.06 that the electric
company will give you credit for. Your credits add up during your lower kw usage months, then during your
higher kw usage months, you will draw from the credits you built up and as a result, your electric bill stays low !
